ESG Data Analyst

As an ESG Data Analyst at NeoImpact, you will play a critical role in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data to generate actionable insights for our clients. You will collaborate with AI engineers, sustainability experts, and product managers to drive data-backed ESG strategies and reporting for corporates and investment firms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collect, clean, and manage large datasets related to ESG metrics from multiple sources (public disclosures, proprietary databases, APIs, etc.)
2. Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of ESG performance for companies, sectors, and portfolios
3. Assist in building ESG scoring frameworks and methodologies aligned with global standards (e.g., SASB, GRI, TCFD, SFDR)
4. Work with AI/ML teams to enhance data inputs and model outputs
5. Develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate ESG trends and risks
6. Support client requests for custom ESG insights, benchmarking, and sustainability reporting
7. Stay updated on regulatory developments, ESG disclosure trends, and data best practices

Requirements

1. 2+ years of experience in ESG analysis, sustainability research, or financial/data analytics
2. Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI/Tableau, and Python/R for data analysis
3. Familiarity with ESG frameworks and rating systems (MSCI, Sustainalytics, CDP, etc.)
4. Ability to interpret complex data and deliver clear, client-ready insights
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills
6. A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with an interest in sustainable finance

Nice to Have

1. Experience working with AI/ML teams or tools
2. Prior exposure to the private equity, VC, or corporate sustainability sectors
3. Knowledge of SQL or cloud-based data platforms
